Terms of Service
Last updated: August 4, 2026
These terms cover who can open an account, how subscriptions and renewals work, what you may do with our printables and sheet music, and the limits of our responsibility.
This document is a draft prepared for review. It must be reviewed by a qualified attorney in [GOVERNING JURISDICTION] before launch.
1. The agreement
These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [BUSINESS ADDRESS] ("Piano GO Academy", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the platform you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
2. Account eligibility
- Adults (18+) may open and manage their own account, whether learning for themselves or teaching others.
- An account for anyone under 18 must be opened and managed by a parent, legal guardian or teacher, who is responsible for the account and for supervising its use.
- For students under 13, the parent, guardian or teacher must provide the consent described in our Children's Privacy Notice before the account is created.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
- One account is for one person. Accounts may not be shared, resold or transferred.
See our Children's Privacy Notice for how student accounts are handled.
3. Plans and subscription terms
- Basic — free, requires registration, gives access to selected free games and previews.
- Premium — $20 per month, full access for one learner of any age.
- Premium Family & Teacher — $39 per month, everything in Premium plus the Guided Learning Hub, plan builder, course library and teacher resources.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply in your country. We may change prices for future billing periods and will give you reasonable notice by email before a change takes effect.
4. Billing and automatic renewal
Paid plans are billed in advance and renew automatically each month on the anniversary of your purchase, using the payment method on file, until you cancel. Payments are processed by our payment processor; a failed payment may suspend access until the payment succeeds.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future charges and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refund terms are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share your login credentials or give others access to paid content through your account.
- Copy, redistribute, resell, publish or upload our content to file-sharing sites, marketplaces or social platforms.
- Circumvent paywalls, download protections or access controls, or scrape the platform.
- Use the platform for anything unlawful, abusive or harmful, or interfere with its operation or security.
- Reverse engineer the platform or use it to train machine learning models without our written permission.
7. Intellectual property and content licence
All lessons, games, videos, printables, arrangements and sheet music on Piano GO Academy are owned by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] or its licensors and are protected by copyright.
While your subscription is active we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to:
- Access the platform for personal, non-commercial learning; and
- Print and use downloadable worksheets and sheet music for your own practice, your household, or — on the Premium Family & Teacher plan — with the students of your own single studio.
You may not:
- Distribute our materials beyond that scope — including to other teachers, schools, districts, online courses or public websites;
- Sell, sublicense or include our materials in your own paid products; or
- Remove copyright notices or branding.
Multi-teacher schools, institutions and districts need a separate written licence — contact us for terms. This licence ends when your subscription ends; printed copies already in use with your current students may be retained for the remainder of the school year.
8. Teacher and studio use limits
The Premium Family & Teacher plan is intended for one adult who guides one learner profile and for use of the teaching resources within a single independent studio. It does not grant separate logins to your students, nor institution-wide rights. Any use beyond a single studio requires an institutional licence.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep the platform available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may add, change or discontinue features, and may remove content for legal or licensing reasons. If we materially reduce the service you paid for, you may cancel and request a pro-rata refund.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, particularly for credential sharing or redistribution of licensed material. Where the breach is minor we will contact you first. You may close your account at any time from account settings.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not promise any specific musical result or rate of progress; learning outcomes depend on practice. Nothing here excludes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data or lost profits. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING JURISDICTION], and the courts of [GOVERNING JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Please contact us first — most issues are resolved by email.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date will change and we will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice before they take effect. Continuing to use the platform after that date means you accept the updated terms.
